My trip to the Appalachian Stringband Competition (commonly known as Clifftop) was a great success again this year. This is the second year that I went to the festival along with my buddies Hugh Hunter and Al Box. It's always a treat to meet up with the fine folks that attend this festival and to find out what my banjo building and playing friends have been up to since we last met. Along with visiting and watching the many events at the festival we also brought down quite a selection of sample parts and instruments in my little white trailer. On Friday morning we stayed at the trailer for 2 1/2 hours just showing parts, instruments and yakking about banjos. I even leaked the news that my authentic reproduction Dobson style tone rings would be available soon and had a couple of samples for Dobson enthusiasts to look at. The response was overwhelming and I have a lot of interested builders on the waiting list already. Here is a link to the festival's website:

Speaking of new parts - I have ordered a large supply of Gotoh tuning pegs and they will be on sale in the very near future, as will Hugh Hunter's excellent block rims. I have even secured a supply of thin ply rims too so keep an eye on this website for news on when they will be available.

Well, isn't this handsome! The new site is almost fully online and as of right now, not a single bug has presented itself! Knowing my luck, of course, they'll likely make themselves known later on. But for now, enjoy the efficient grandeur of Rickard Banjos Online version 2.0. Any comments or questions regarding Rickard Banjos can be conveyed to Bill Rickard himself through the Contact link on the left. Any comments, questions, or bug sightings can be directed to glitchriffs@gmail.com, your friendly neigbourhood Webmaster.
